Dear Friends,

Glory to God in the Lowest

Born in transit
acknowledged by the simple
sought by the wise
cherished by his parents

A refugee in a foreign land
a questioning child
reared by a craftsman
outstanding in his peer group

Caring for outsiders
perceptive towards all
he could feel and show fear, anger
sorrow and compassion
and find a way through

When the crisis came
friends distanced themselves from him
and admirers deserted him
or stood far away
for whatever reason
unable to enter
the kingdom of suffering love
where their world might be turned upside down

Today he is still acknowledged by the simple
sought by the wise
cherished by those
who see him in others.
